I have been on a “Robert” kick lately. I made six pair in two days. Six lined pairs. So basically I made twelve pair.
I’m not 100% sure what caused this…I’m going to blame pregnancy because that’s what I do these days. Each pair of shorts required only about a half a yard of fabric so I was able to use a lot of remnants that were too big to toss and too small to make a dress with. It was so nice to use the fabric that otherwise would have just sat on the shelf and stared at me.
I made the pants and shorts more “girly” by adding some eyelet trim to the pocket. I don’t like my trim to be very gathered so I only needed about four inches per pocket…again…a great way to use up those pieces of trim you can’t get yourself to toss. If you don’t have any here is my favorite casual trim at farmhouse fabrics.
I created matching tops by finding cute appliquĂ©s on Etsy (my favorites are JoyKate and TheClassicApplique) and ordering blanks from Blanks Boutique. I have had phenomenal experiences with all of these companies-they have great products and fantastic customer service. I also love the ruffle detail on the girl’s shirts.
These outfits are perfect for play and everyday wear. They can be personalized so that they quickly become your child’s favorite.

So very nice! Thank you for matching up your prints….that’s hard to do.
What kind of sewing machine/embroidery machine do you have?

No problem…I would have gone crazy every time I looked at them if I didn’t. Some of them aren’t perfect because they were remnants and I only had so much fabric! I have a Babylock Aventura. I found one “used” back in Alabama. It had only done 7,000 stitches and I got a phenomenal deal 🙂
